My first time at Bohanan’s was an unforgettable one, a true 5 star experience that was worth every penny. Our waiter Danny was excellent throughout the night, and the food was everything you’d expect from a restaurant of this prestige. We’ve combined the finest spirits, service, and steaks with a relaxed, friendly environment to create the best bar experience. Enjoy an incredible selection of libations and cocktails in a casual, relaxed, upscale environment that features the best food (and service) in the region. Ruth’s Chris serves a porterhouse for two dish that features a 40-ounce steak (but you can try to eat it by yourself if you’re REALLY Jonesing for steak). All of Josephine Street’s beef is choice, black Angus, or Prime, so you’re getting a decent cut of meat for the price. Whether you’re there for the aged steaks, award-winning wine, or weird caricatures on the wall, The Palm has been a go-to downtown steak stop for over 20 years. It’s located near the Majestic Theater and Rivercenter Mall, which makes The Palm another hopping spot near all of San Antonio’s tourist attractions. Today, I’m sharing my picks for the 9 best steakhouses in San Antonio, organized by what you’re in the mood for.
The filet mignon is to die for, but my husband loves the cordeiro (prime lamb steak). It costs $135, but you’ll get a three-course dinner for two people. You each get a salad, two sides, two desserts, and split a whopping 35-ounce Tomahawk steak. Tomahawks are insanely expensive on their own, so this is a darn good deal. If you don’t mind having date night on a Tuesday, it’s a great way to enjoy high-class dining on a reasonable budget. I’ve done the three-course dinner at The Palm, which costs under $30/person.
Whether you’re toasting a milestone or getting together just because, you can count on Ruth’s to make everyday moments perfect. I don’t even have the words for how amazing the whole experience there was. Ryan was super attentive and even made sure we got to our show on time.
